Precious metals futures: In the week ending May 21, COMEX silver speculators 'net long positions decreased by 3,918 lots to 37,703 lots;COMEX gold speculators' net long positions increased by 21,030 lots to 193,972 lots;COMEX copper speculators 'net long positions increased by 2,557 lots to 75,342 lots. Energy futures: In the week ending May 21, oil speculators increased their net long positions in WTI by 39,768 lots to 140,087 lots; natural gas speculators 'net long positions in the four major NYMEX and ICE markets increased by 2,376 lots to 56,296 lots. Foreign exchange futures: For the week ending May 21, 2024, the net short position in the Japanese yen was-144,367 lots; the net long position in the euro was 41,475 lots; the net long position in the British pound was 1,053 lots; and the net short position in the Swiss franc was-40,645 lots. Stock index futures: Equity fund managers increased the S & P 500 CME net long positions by 25,714 lots to 946,576 lots in the week ended May 21; equity fund speculators increased the S & P 500 CME net short positions by 38,575 lots to 317,912 lots in the week ended May 21.
